Beallsville rallies past SJC netters

Beallsville rallied from a game down to take down St. John Central in prep volleyball Tuesday evening.

The Lady Blue Devils posted a 21-25, 25-12, 25-13 and 25-8 victory.

The Lady Irish were led on the stat sheet by Kristen Russell. She had 10 points, four aces, three kills, four digs, 18 passes and 15 assists. Kaydie Coppa added six kills, three digs, 16 passes and 18 assists. Lindsee Perry had five points, six passes, six assists and two blocks.

Jessica Alvey added four points, eight kills, nine digs and five assists. Amber LaMotte had eight digs and 24 passes. Emily LeMasters had seven points, an ace, three kills and three passes. Lindsey Froelich had four kills.

No Beallsville stat leaders were reported.

Buckeye Local Sweeps

Harrison Central

At Connorville, Buckeye Local improved to 4-3 with a three-game sweep of Buckeye rival Harrison Central.

The Lady Panthers prevailed by scores of 25-10, 25-19 and 25-15.

Kayla Fillopovich had four points, two aces, six kills for Buckeye. Amy Balk had five points, six kills and two assists. Becca Rector had four points, two aces, three kills and eight assists.

Lex Fedorko added nine points, two aces, seven assists. Kaylee DeCesare had eight digs. Morgan Staten had 12 points and Preslie Renforth had 11 points and seven aces.

Jesse Ledger led the Huskies 12 digs, while Katie Stackhouse added eight digs and seven assists. Janese Eckley had nine digs, four points and four kills.

Monroe Central Still Spotless

At Woodsfield Elementary School, the Seminoles remained perfect (3-0) with a three-set sweep of visiting Frontier by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-23.

Amanda Haslam led the way with 12 points and 20 digs. Chelsie Roberts added nine kills and 17 digs. Melanie Stimpert contributed 10 points and 16 assists.

Cameron Brock chipped in eight kills and 11 helpers.

Kelsie Rinard led the Cougars (0-4) with 10 points. Emily Hinton had two dozen assists.

Shenandoah Zaps Shamrocks

At Barnesville, the Zeps prevailed by scores of 25-13, 24-26, 25-15 and 25-22.

Samantha Goodhart paced the visitors with 13 points, including eight aces. Kylee Kapser added 23 digs.

Sydney Bruce led the Shamrocks (3-1) with 12 points, 27 digs and a pair of kills. Kelsey Douglas contributed 10 points, eight kills and 10 digs.

Paige Gibbons added 26 digs and 13 assists.

Shadyside Drops Pair

At McMechen, the Tigers fell to Paden City 25-12 and 25-5, while also losing to Bishop Donahue by the same scores.

Karli Bonar led the Tigers with 13 points.

Bridgeport Lances Knights

At Toronto, the Bulldogs (3-1) were led byMaclaine Murad with 12 points, four aces and a trio of digs.

Emily Nowakowski added 15 assists, four points and a like number of digs.
