Bridgeport loses finale
CAMERON, W.Va. – Bridgeport jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter but couldn’t hold on as Cameron rallied for a 22-13 victory Feirday at Dragon Field.
Dallas Fields sprinted 49 yards for the first score and Gabriel Bogoni added the PAT. The Bulldogs made it 13-0 when Bailey McGrath found Q.J. Williams for a 10-yard scoring strike.
Cameron came right back as Hunter Yoders scored on a 15-yard run in the second quarter to pull the Dragons (5-5) to within 13-6 at the half.
The hosts scored a touchdown in each of the third and fourth quasrters, with 6-8 quarterback Logan Routt finding Ivan Hall for a 73-yard scoring play. Routt hit Mark Walker with the two-point conversion, giving the Dragons a 14-13 lead they would never relinquish.
Devin Starcher completed the scoring with a 9-yard run. He also ran in for the two points.
Fields finished with 132 yards on 32 carries, leaving him just shy of the 1,000-yard mark with 988. McGrath was 6 of 11 for 47 yards and a touchdown. Fields caught four passes for 24 yards.
The Bulldogs (2-8) were flagged 10 times for 90 yards. Cameron drew no yellow flags.
Each team had a dozen first downs.
