Bridgeport outlasts Beallsville

Bridgeport and Beallsville are number four seeds in the OVAC Volleyball Championships Saturday and with the number one seeds Steubenville Central and Weirton Madonna, respectively, awaiting them at Brooke High School, their focus was on preparing to compete this weekend.

The Lady Dogs and Blue Devils battled through four close sets with the hosts finally victorious, 25-22, 28-26, 23-25 and 26-24.

Brianna Massey paced the Bulldogs (9-10) at the net with 11 kills and two blocks. Cheyenne Flowers added nine kills, Ali Baker six kills and Maclaine Murad five spikes. Emily Nowakowski set up the action with 23 assists while Hannah Lewis dug up 25. Kaitlyn Brenda added 12 digs.

Katie Kinney led Beallsville (10-9) with 15 kills and seven blocks. Ali Campbell notched 12 kills, Madison Stephen supported with 10 kills, six digs and Laiken Tubaugh contributed four spikes with five blocks. Anna Jones set 26 assists, five digs and three kills. Morgan Marley added eight digs, two kills and two assists.
