Ward’s 44 leads OUE?men to win

The OUE Panthers traveled north to take on Kent State Tuscarawas Wednesday night.

The Green-and-White came out of the gates fast and furious on their way to an easy 109-89 victory to end their regular season.

With the win, the Panthers improved their record to 18-6.

They were led by Bellaire’s Devin Ward who fired in a career-high 44 points to go along with his five assists and four steals. Shadyside’s Nick Schuetz scored 24 points and had four assists and 4 steals. Union Local’s Jordan Barbina had a fine all around game dishing out eight assists and grabbing 10 rebounds.

D’Aundrea Anderson led the Panthers with 13 rebounds.

The Panthers must now look ahead to this weekends Ohio Regional Conference State Tournament.

They received the fourth seed and a bye on the opening day and will face the winner of OSU Mansfield and Akron Wayne University Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.

The first two rounds will be held on the campus of Ohio State University Newark Campus.
