Boxing to return to Mountaineer
CHESTER – Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort in association with eight-Time World Champion Roy Jones Jr. & TNT Promotions presents live professional boxing at The Harv on Saturday. A full slate of battles are in store for your entertainment to include:
Undefeated Welterweight Wilkins “The Hispanic Hurricane” Santiago taking on perennial contender Gilbert “Gordo” Venegas. Fans can expect constant fireworks in this classic Puerto Rico vs. Mexico matchup. Santiago seeks to fight his way into contention against Venegas who is best known for his shocking knockout victory over current WBC & WBA No. 3-ranked contender Ed Paredes & highly disputed draw with world renowned Jesus Soto Karass.
Undefeated Super Middleweight “Big Chief” Morgan Fitch faces his toughest foe to date in Eli Augustama. Big Chief has performed well in previous Mountaineer appearances, but will need to step up his game against Augustama who’s coming off consecutive national television appearances vs. John Thompson & Brandon Gonzalez & an upset win over prospect DonYil Livingston.
In the evening’s “Special Attraction,” Heavyweight Nick “The Stoneman” Firtha returns to face “Big G” Gabe Brown. It will mark Akron, Ohio native Firtha’s first bout at Mountaineer since 2008. Big G is best known to the tri-state area when he gave former heavyweight champion Samuel Peter all he could handle at Youngstown State University’s Beeghly Center.
Crowd favorites Billy “Hutch” Hutchinson & Joey ”The Hitman” Holt are back. Hutch goes toe-to-toe with tough as nails Angel “The White Tiger” Rios while Holt does the same with popular Dustin Caplinger.
