St. John spikes Beallsville
St. John Central needed just three games to dispatch Beallsville in volleyball, prevailing with scores of 25-12, 25-10 and 26-24.
Jessica Alvey had seven kills and five blocks, while Lindsee Perry had five kills.
Beallsville was paced by Laikyn Tubaugh had seven points, six kills, an assist and a dig. Morgan Marley had 12 assists and two aces, while Shania Phillips added eight kills and five blocks.
Edison def. Bellaire
Edison scored a Buckeye 8 volleyball victory Monday evening, by virtue of a four-game match against the homestanding Bellaire Lady Big Reds. Edison prevailed with scores of 25-13, 17-25, 25-22 and 25-20.
Bellaire was led by sophomore Morgan Runyan who had 19 points, six aces and two kills. Tori Duffy added 14 points, two aces and 15 assists. Mary Garloch had 10 points and eight assists, while junior Elisha Gillespie added nine points, two aces, six kills, while Shiann Kolakowski added nine points, two aces and three kills. Senior Hunter Eden donated nine points and two kills.
Bellaire is now 1-2 on the season and will host St. Clairsville this evening.

The Lady Red Devils dropped to 1-1 on the young season after suffering a 7-0 setback to the Lady Bruins in Wellsburg.
Amanda Loughrie had two goals for the Lady Bruins. Payge Farmer got the win in the net for Brooks, making four saves.
