Davis accounts for 11 TDs in 92-89 LSFL win

HIDALGO, Tx. – Nate Davis accounted for 11 touchdowns Saturday night as Rio Grande Valley outscored visiting San Angelo, 92-89, in Lone Star Football League action inside State Farm Arena.

Davis, the former Bellaire High and Ball State University quarterback, fired eight TD strikes and ran for a trio of scores. His final scoring pass covered six yards and came with a mere five seconds remaining to play as the Sol (5-2) rallied past the Bandits (4-3) and took over first-place in the six-team league.

The former San Francisco 49ers draft pick completed 23 of 29 passes for 365 yards and eight aforementioned eight scores. He carried the ball six times for 12 yards and the three scores.

Damion Clark was his favorite target, snagging 14 passes for 223 yards and half of the eight TDs. He also caught the game-winner.

Rio Grande Valley travels to New Mexico to meet the Stars Saturday at the Santa Ana Center.
