Maynard still unbeaten
MAYNARD – Maynard (4-0) remained unbeaten in Steele and Cook Insurance Ohio Valley Baseball League action with a convincing 18-0 shellacking of the Wheeling Yankees Friday night on the Firemen’s Field diamond.
Three Maynard pitchers teamed for 15 strikeouts and allowed just two hits in the lop-sided victory.
Ryan Jarvie got the win with nine Ks in four frames. Greyson Loweecy punched out five in two innings of work, while B.A. Holloway fanned one in his inning on the hill.
Holloway also led the winners’ 14-hit attack with a 4-for-4 performance that included three singles, a double and two runs batted in. D.J. Busby singled three times and drove in a run, while Mark Cisar slugged a two-run homer.
Michael Androsko singled twice to plate a run, while Cody Hudson doubled in a run.
Maynard is at Weirton Sunday.
