Kalkreuth Amateur set for this weekend
The Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Classic is slated to be contested June 14 and 15 at Oglebay’s Crispin Course.
This marks the eighth year that Kalkreuth Roofing has been the title sponsor of this venerable golf tournament which started in 1945, then known as the Bernhardt’s.
It also marks the third year in which the tournament has made a donation benefiting Easter Seals. Tournament Director Dan Tennant says he hopes an improved lunch for the golfers and a golfer’s gift bag this year will boost participation.
Afternoon tee times are still available. Players can visit www.Oglebaygc.com for an application and contact information. Spectators are welcome.
The 2013 tournament culminated with playoffs in both the Championship Flight and Senior Flight. Seven-time Ohio Valley Player of the Year Bryan Myers bested Thadd Obecney on the 4th playoff hole and John Bailey defeated John Zitkovic on the first playoff hole in the Senior Division. Starting times will be posted prior to the event with local media and at www.Oglebaygc.com
