Post 159 now 2-1

RICHMOND – St. Clairsville improved to 2-1 in American Legion baseball action Tuesday night with a 10-6 victory over homestanding Richmond.

Malik Gummer paced Post 159s’ 11-hit attack with three singles that produced four runs. Dillon Curtin also singled thrice, driving in a pair. Eric Banal slapped a pair of one-base hits and drove in a run, while Daulton Freeman had an RBI single and Lewis Mitchell knocked in a run.

Dylan Hamilton worked into the seventh to earn the victory. He struck out two and walked three. Nathan Steele had a K in his inning of work. They teamed on a six-hitter.

St. Clairsville is back in action tonight again in Jefferson County to meet Toronto. Post 159 opens its home schedule Friday when Zanesville visits Memorial Park at 6 p.m.
