St. Clairsville sweeps pair

ST. MARY’S, W.Va. – St. Clairsville swept an American Legion baseball doubleheader from homestanding St. Mary’s Sunday afternoon.

Post 159 (14-7-1) won game one 6-3 and completed their sweep with a 7-3 triumph in the nightcap.

In the opener, Parker Dyson, Nathan Steele and Lucas Lloyd combined for a 5-hitter, striking out five. Steele earned the win in relief, fanning two. Dyson had three Ks. Lloyd picked up the save.

Eric Banal singled twice to knock in a pair of runs. Bailey McGrath and Michael Jacob evenly divided four singles.

In the second game, Jacob drove in a run with a trio of one-base raps. Tyler Ramsey singled and tripled to drive in a run, while Hunter Westlake legged out a triple.

Dillon Hamilton picked up the win on the mound, recording five strikeouts. Lloyd collected his second save with one K.
