Barnesville holds off Bridgeport; HC wins
• Huskies’ bowlers roll past Beaver Local
BARNESVILLE — The Barnesville Shamrocks fought off another stiff challenge from snake-bitten Bridgeport to produce a 44-43 victory Thursday evening.
The Shamrocks received steady play on the interior from senior standout Dulcie Christman, who scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Sarah Powell finished with 10 in top support to go along six assists.
Bridgeport was paced by a double-double from senior Kamden Dulesky. She had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Marissa Beal added 11 points and seven steals.
Harrison Central 52, Martins Ferry 30
CADIZ — Harrison Central avenged a loss from Tuesday evening at Martins Ferry with a convincing 52-30 victory inside the John W. Stephenson Center Thursday night.
The Huskies led 25-14 at the half and never looked back.
A trio of double-figure scorer led Harrison. Alex Wiley led the way with 13, while Sydney Starr and Asia Muckle went for 12 and 11, respectively.
Martins Ferry (2-11) was led by sophomore Richella Spielvogel’s nine.
Valley 45, Beallsville 44
KIDWELL — Beallsville dropped into the consolation game of the annual Boggs Roundball Tournament at Tyler Consolidated after suffering a 45-44 setback to Valley.
The Blue Devils led by 14 entering the fourth, but watched the Lumberjills outscore them, 23-8, in the final chapter.
Beallsville was paced by Ashley Louden’s 15. Jaydn Gabel added nine.
Shenandoah 61, Monroe Central 24
SARAHSVILLE — Taylor Franklin scored a school-record 39 points to lead Shenandoah past Monroe Central.
Franklin added 10 rebounds and eight steals for the Zeps (10-3).
Sydney Yoho paced the Seminoles (2-9) with seven points.
