Also, this year’s 300 Club Party will be held Aug. 22 at the Martins Ferry Rec Center. Due to a lack of members’ participation, the club is dropping the weekly drawing. It still is giving $7,500 out, but it will be given out at the 300 Club Party. The 300 Club is the boosters biggest money maker of the year. The boosters’ yearly budget is between $30,000 and $40,000. The money it makes goes to support all city athletic programs, to boost clean living, sportsmanship, recreation and athletics in the community. Its goal also is to assist all community organizations, promoting and financing of education, health, safety and the welfare of youth in the community. A 300 number cost of $50 must be paid by June 30; if not, it will be resold. Let the club know if you are no longer wanting your number, said Larry Deaton, 300 Club chairman. Payments can be sent to P.O. Box 395, Martins Ferry, OH 43935. There are some numbers open as well.
