THOSE SEEKING tickets to the Wheeling Herb Society’s upcoming luncheon, may call Paula Henry at 740-491-1443. The luncheon is slated for 11 a.m. May 4 at the Pine Room at Oglebay Park. The event will feature an herbal luncheon, along with guest speaker Danny Swan, executive director and “head farmer” at Grow Ohio Valley. Swan is expected to discuss “Food for an Energetic Life.” The 33rd annual Herb Day luncheon will include fresh vegetables, crackers with dips, a main course, dessert and herbal teas. Seats are still available.

CARY PARTY is slated for 2 p.m. May 6 at the Yorkville VFW. Doors open at 1 p.m. Tickets are $6 in advance and $7 at the door.

ORMET RETIREES Club Local 5724 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting date has been moved ahead one week because of elections on May 8. The meeting will take place at the old Hannibal Grade School. PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN of Kirkwood Church, located at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Bennett Street, Bridgeport, is slated to hold a Rummage & Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4 and 10 a.m. to noon May 5. Proceeds benefit mission projects. Meanwhile, the KIRKWOOD PRESBYTERIAN Women’s Association will meet at 10 a.m. May 2. President Tola Kappler will preside. Devotions by Margery Witten. Lucheon by Daryl Totterdale. They also will set up for the rummage sale.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE Eagles #2541Auxiliary Election for president and vice president is set for 2-6 p.m. May 1 in the back hall. Results will be announced at 7 p.m. meeting. Members need their current membership card and a driver’s license to vote.

BELMONT COUNTY Council of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. May 1 at the Neffs American Legion. They will discuss their trip to Chillicothe.

A FREE and festive opening reception is planned from 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 3 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center, National Road, Wheeling, for the “Tin is the New Black” exhibit. Featuring artists from across the country, the exhibit is a colorful display of artwork created using repurposed lithographed metal from product containers, advertising, signage and more.

BETHLEHEM APOSTOLIC Temple and Shiloh Apostolic Faith Assembly are slated to host a Miracle Sunday on April 29. The Wheeling service is at 10:30 a.m., and the Shiloh service in Weirton is at 12:30 p.m. Special speaker will be Bishop Gwendolyn Weeks of Bethel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Dorcester, Mass.

CHURCH WOMEN United is having a Luncheon and Meeting at noon Friday, May 4, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Boggs Run Benwood. The cost is $6 per person. People are asked to bring a friend for May Fellowship Day. There is a a handicap ramp to the church with a new chair lift to the luncheon. The entertainment will be a musical program. ON JUNE 2, a poker run in memory of Mike Courtwright will be held at the St. Clairsville VFW. Sign ups are at 10 a.m. First bike out at 11 a.m. and the last bike in at 5 p.m. The cost is $15, which includes dinner, for a single and $5 per passenger. The best hand and worst hand wins. There will be bean bag and horseshoe tournaments, along with an auction and chicken dinners. Live bands after 5 p.m. For more information, call 740-312-2670.

TILTONSVILLE Neighborhood Watch is slated to meet at 6 p.m. May 2 at the municipal building, 222 Grandview Ave. The slated guest speaker is Ed Lulla, a crime scene investigator with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

RUMMAGE AND Bake Sale is set from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 26 at the Ruritan Building, in St. Clairsville, near the St. Clairsville High School Football Stadium. All proceeds benefit the Belmont County Animal Rescue Sanctuary. The bake sale will feature baked goods from Stratford Springs. Items for sale will include clothes, household goods, small appliances, toys, holiday items, TV, grill, jewelry, furniture and more.
