Shadyside shop under new ownership

SHADYSIDE — A shop catering to children and families is operating under new ownership.

The Bird’s Nest, located at 3985 Central Ave. in Shadyside, held a grand opening to celebrate the change in management on Nov. 24.

Tom and Dana Mullen purchased the business on Nov. 1.

The shop doesn’t just offer items for sale; it also gives area residents the opportunity to sell items they no longer use.

“The shop has been here in Shadyside for 24 years … ,” Dana Mullen said. “We offer a wide variety of new and gently used items including clothing sizes newborn to adult, shoes, baby gear and furniture, toys, jackets and snow suits. We also have added a craft room.”

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It is closed Sunday and Monday.

“We are excited to own the shop, as it really helps the whole community,” Mullen added. “Families are able to make some extra money on items they do not use anymore and can also purchase items at well below retail and save money.”
