Nonprofit reaches 75.7% of its fundraising goal

WHEELING — The 2016-17 Campaign for the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley has reached the 75.7 percent mark of its goal, or $613,196. The goal is $810,000.

“Thank you so much to everyone who has donated thus far to the United Way campaign,” Lynn Wallace, campaign co-chair, said. “If you haven’t donated to help our friends in the community, please consider making a donation. It’s easy! If you log on our United Way website, www.unitedwayuov.org, you can click on the tab ‘Make a donation.’ If you prefer making a traditional donation, please send it to our office at 51-11th St., Wheeling, WV 26003.”

Companies and businesses still have time, as well, to conduct an in-house campaign. United Way representatives are available to make a presentation to employees.

“The Campaign dollars help our United Way agencies meet the needs of our friends and neighbors,” George Smoulder, United Way executive director, said. “Different needs arise at different times in people’s lives, and many find themselves unexpectedly needing the help a United Way agency can provide. Our agencies serve people of all ages, from infants to our seniors.”
