Stuffed animals for police

T-L Photo/SHELLEY HANSON

MEMBERS OF the Martins Ferry Police Department, from left, Officer Brad Mackey, Sgt. Beth Scales and Officer Casey Robinson accept toy animals from Jennifer Compston-Strough, managing editor of The Times Leader, that were donated by community members during a recent Martins Ferry Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours held at the newspaper office in Martins Ferry. The toys are used by the police officers to help children at the scenes of stressful situations. The collection yielded 121 plush toys and a few new blankets for the cause.
