MORRISTOWN — Union Local High School’s Commencement is set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the high school gymnasium.

Justin Hamilton is the valedictorian, while the salutatorian is Luke Menges.

Hamilton is the son of Paul and Rachel Hamilton and resides in Flushing. Hamilton is finishing his high school career with a 4.686 grade point average. His activities at Union Local include National Honor Society, Drug Free Club, Spanish Club and ambassador for I Believe Foundation, while earning nine varsity letters in soccer, cross country and track.

He represented Union Local at Buckeye Boys State and HOBY. Hamilton also earned the Eagle Scout degree from the Boy Scouts of America. Hamilton plans to attend Ohio State University, majoring in architecture.

Menges is the son of Mike and Stephanie Menges and resides in Bethesda. He is finishing his high school career with a 4.680 GPA. While a student at Union Local, Menges’s activities include National Honor Society, Prom Planning Committee, Drug Free Club, Spanish Club and Fellowship of Christian Students. Luke enjoyed a stellar athletic career at Union Local, earning eight varsity letters in football, basketball and track.

Menges plans to continue his education at Waynesburg University, majoring in math education.

Union Local Principal Joel Davia will present the class during the ceremony, and board President Terry Puperi will accept the class.

Music will be provided by school band, directed by April Linard, and the school choir, directed by Larry Compston. Juniors Hannah Kemp and Autumn Crum will serve as marshals with Lauryn Menges and Alison Loase as ushers.
