Body of Harrison County man recovered from lake
TIPPECANOE — The body of a local man who went missing following a Sunday afternoon fishing trip has been found.
According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the body of Leonard Porter was recovered Monday morning from Stillwater Creek, just off of Ohio 800, south of Tippecanoe.
Porter was last seen at 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon when he reportedly left to go fishing near Tippecanoe, Sheriff Ronald “Joe” Myers said in a statement. Porter had a favorite place to go fishing along Stillwater Creek.
Deputies were dispatched Sunday to locate Porter when he was reported missing. A search began at midnight and ended at about 10 a.m. Monday when Porter’s body was recovered, he said.
An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
