Ohio Arts Council awards grant to Heritage Ohio

The Ohio Arts Council has awarded Heritage Ohio one of their new “SASO” grants, which provides support to Statewide Arts Service Organizations.

Heritage Ohio received a grant of $15,555.00, which will support educational activities which encourage using the arts in revitalization of Ohio’s downtowns, helping Ohioans understand how to save historic architecture, and encourage partnerships opportunities with the Ohio Arts Council via workshops, community visits and webinars.

Heritage Ohio’s largest program is the Ohio Main Street Program, which includes 23 communities certified by the National Main Street America Program.

Another 33 communities participate in the Downtown Affiliate Program.

Heritage Ohio has led the efforts in Ohio to introduce and protect the 25% Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit.

Heritage Ohio is the leading statewide, non-profit preservation organization, dedicated to encouraging and assisting people and organizations to protect and preserve Ohio’s heritage and cultural resources.

Heritage Ohio has been the designated coordinating agency by The National Main Street Center since 1997 and is the designated statewide Ohio preservation partner with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
