Photo Provided

Martins Ferry City Schools staff learned to “Stop the Bleed” at an in-service session Monday. Students in the district returned to school Tuesday. More than 100 staff members were taught how to control bleeding, use a tourniquet and package a wound. Starting her 51st year as a third grade teacher, Lucinda Zeiher, left, demonstrates using a tourniquet on Natalie Zambori, who is in her 14th year as the high school art teacher. Instructing the session is Dr. James Comerci, director of Wheeling Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency Program. Other instructors from Wheeling Hospital Safety Department and Ohio County EMA assisted in the class.
