Man arrested in connection with alleged Woodsfield break-ins

Devin Bradley

WOODSFIELD — Woodsfield Police Department arrested a man in connection with a string of alleged vehicle break-ins Monday.

Devin Bradley, 21, of Woodsfield has been identified as the suspect in the recent vehicle break-ins and burglaries that occurred over the weekend within the village. Police Chief Corey Jones said about 10 vehicles were broken into between late Friday night into early Saturday.

“The break-ins occurred within a few hours,” he said.

The majority of the victims’ property included vehicles and one camper.

“There were approximately 10 break-ins that we are aware of — nine of those are vehicles, the tenth being a camper,” he said.

With the aid of video surveillance and the help of the public, the suspect was identified.

“Fortunately, some of the victims were able to provide us with security footage. With the help of the public, we were able to identify him (Bradley),” Jones said.

Law enforcement arrested Bradley Monday afternoon.

He is charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft.

All of the vehicles that were entered were unlocked. Jones urges residents to always keep personal belongings locked up and secure.

“Please keep doors and vehicles locked to prevent this from happening in the future,” he said.

Bradley was lodged in the Monroe County Jail. A bond amount had not yet been set as of Monday afternoon.
