TRIADELPHIA — The Corner Grill & Bar, 4318 National Road, Triadelphia, is getting ready to host a free Thanksgiving dinner from 3-5 p.m. Nov. 25.

Owner Mario Jewell said the dinner is open to anyone in need. People can eat inside the grill as space allows or carry out their meal. The menu will include turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, rolls, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, yams and desserts.

Jewell said he was inspired to put on the dinner after a recent visit to the House of the Carpenter on Wheeling Island. While there doing some shopping for household items, he noticed how empty the food area was.

“The shelves were bare,” he said.

For Jewell, that put into perspective just how many people may need a free meal for Thanksgiving.

Jewell said he wanted to thank the following businesses for helping make the dinner possible: Bleifus Tire, Country Comfort Catering, Wanda’s Bargain Barn, Flooring America, Twice As Nice Auto Body, Ye Olde Traders, Liberty Distributors, and his own establishment.
