Wheeling man found guilty in child porn case

A Wheeling man was found guilty in Marshall County court Friday of possessing more than 600 images of child pornography, Marshall County Prosecuting Attorney Joe Canestraro said.

Alexander DeLorenzo, 35, was convicted of possessing material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct or an image of violence against children. The jury trial lasted three days.

DeLorenzo will be sentenced at a later date, Canestraro said. The possible penalty is between five and 15 years in prison.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Eric Gordon and Andrea Poling prosecuted the case. The investigation was conducted by the Wheeling Police Department and the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit.
