OHHC-Woodsfield team welcomes Brown as new nurse practitioner

WOODSFIELD — Ohio Hills Health Centers is pleased to welcome Jenna Brown, a board certified, family nurse practitioner to Woodsfield.

The addition of Brown to the OHHC team will allow the Woodsfield site to offer evening hours until 7 p.m. four days a week — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

“We are thrilled to have Jenna join our staff. She will allow OHHC to expand our evening hours to better meet the needs of the community. Jenna will also accept walk-in patients for urgent care type needs,” said Jeff Britton, CEO, OHHC. “Jenna is an experienced provider with a background in urgent care. Jenna understands OHHC’s mission is to make healthcare accessible and affordable for all area residents and she is eager to be a part of the community.”

Brown has a strong background in nursing and has a proven ability to promote and build positive relationships with her patients and their family members. Her clinical experience includes pediatrics, women’s health, adults, and the treatment of chronic and acute illnesses. Prior to coming to OHHC, she worked at Barnesville Surgery Inc., Wheeling Hospital, Genesis Healthcare System and Muskingum Valley Health Centers Urgent Care.

Brown obtained a bachelor of science in exercise physiology from Ohio University Eastern, associate of science in nursing, Belmont College, and a master and bachelor of science in nursing from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner.

“I am excited to be joining the OHHC-Woodsfield team,” Brown said. “I am glad to be able to offer evening hours and to accept walk-in patients, as I think this will be a tremendous benefit to the community. I look forward to building a relationship with my patients and taking an active role in the community.”

A nurse practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse that has additional education and experience. A nurse practitioner is able to prescribe medications, perform in-office procedures, communicate diagnoses, and order and interpret diagnostic tests. Nurse practitioners are integral members of the health care team in many hospitals and clinical practices.
