Six arrested on drug-related charges in fentanyl bust
BELLAIRE — Six people were arrested and taken to the Belmont County Jail on Thursday and raw fentanyl was seized at Belle Village apartments.
Detectives with the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit and members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Ohio Organized Crime Investigation Commission arrested Alaysha N. Burkett, 26, of Youngstown after a month-long investigation. She was charged with multiple counts of possession and trafficking of a fentanyl-related compound and cocaine. Her bond was set at $80,000. Detectives seized approximately 2 ounces of raw fentanyl and more than an ounce of crack cocaine. Drug proceeds were also seized, and five others were also arrested during the investigation.
Detectives arrested and charged Myles Edmund-Wright, 26, of Bellaire, Alyssa Anderson, 28, of Bellaire, Richard Kartman, 51, of Shadyside, Darla Newell, 49, of Bellaire, and Kisha Hocker, 37, of Bellaire. All suspects were booked in the Belmont County Jail on drug-related charges. The Bellaire Police Department assisted in the case.
