Union Local Rotary Club collection clothes for students
BETHESDA — People can donate clothes to the Union Local Rotary Club that will be given to middle and high school students for the season of giving.
The rotary club is collecting new hoodies, sweatpants and joggers for Union Local middle and high school students. Size medium, large, extra large, 2XL and 3Xl are needed for the new hoodies and sweatpants for both boys and girls. Colors black, blue, gray or red are preferred for the donation. The clothes can be any brand, but the preferred colors are because they are more neutral, and one of Union Local’s colors is red.
Christy Schwertfeger reached out to the rotary club because she is the school’s social worker through Student Services and was in need of clothes for the student services.
“If there’s a need there with the students and somebody reaches out to us and asks us if we ‘Can you help us with this little project?'” Treasurer Judy Jenewein said, “The club is always happy to do that.”
Items can be dropped off at the Bethesda Municipal Building at 103 S. Main St. The last day to drop off items will be Dec. 10. People can also opt to make a monetary donation instead, and a Rotarian will purchase the hoodies. Checks can be payable to the Union Local Rotary Club and mailed to PO Box 126, Bethesda.
The rotary club thanks everyone who donates for their contribution in advance, to what it described as a worthwhile project. People can call 740-449-2280 for any questions regarding the donation.
Jenewein added that this season is a time for giving, and it’s a good opportunity to give to the school and students who will benefit from receiving new hoodies and sweatpants.
“This is a wonderful way to reach out to our area students,” the rotary club said. “Please know you are making a positive contribution where needed.”
