SkyShow 2017 is set

MARTINS FERRY — The Martins Ferry Chamber of Commerce’s Skyshow, featuring food, entertainment and fireworks, is slated Friday at the Martins Ferry City Schools campus.

The rain date for the event is Saturday.

Gates open at 5 p.m. for the event held annually to celebrate Independence Day. Admission and parking are free with donations taken at the gate.

There is a limited number of VIP parking spaces offered for $10, and they can be purchased at the chamber office at 108 S. Zane Highway.

Those spaces are located near the administration building.

Matt VanFossen and his band are the scheduled musical entertainment. The show begins at 7 p.m.

There will also be inflatable rides for children from All Year Sports Galaxy from 6:15-9:15 p.m. Tickets for the 50-50 raffle are on sale at the chamber office and will also be sold that night. The drawing will take place just before the fireworks show.

There also will be a variety of food to eat, in addition to face painting and trinkets to purchase at the concession stands.

“Come up early and enjoy an evening of fun, food and music. Then make yourself comfortable for the spectacular show,” said Marian Klier, chamber secretary.

The Skyshow’s major sponsors include Belmont County Tourism Council, The Citizens Bank, East Ohio Regional Hospital, The Times Leader, Riesbeck’s Food Markets, National Lime and Stone/The Lash Companies and Sheet Metal Workers Local 33.
