One Dead, Two Injured in Ohio 149 Crash Near Bellaire
OHSP Investigating Fatal Crash Near Bellaire
BELLAIRE – One woman died and two others were injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident on Ohio 149 in Pultney Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, a red 2017 Chevrolet Cruze operated by Sheila V. Hughes, 79, of Brook Avenue in Bellaire, went left of center while traveling east on Ohio 149, striking a westbound 2012 Honda CR-V driven by Angelo J. Spigarelli, 77, of Elm Street in Bellaire. A passenger in that vehicle, 74-year-old Cassandra Spigarelli, of the same address, died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the patrol.
Hughes was flown by medical helicopter to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Her condition was unknown late Tuesday.
Paramedics transported Angelo Spigarelli to Wheeling Hospital with what troopers termed âminorã injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
