UPDATE: Abducted woman found safe, suspect on the run

BELLAIRE — A woman who reportedly was abducted by a man following an argument Thursday afternoon at the Belle Village Apartments in Bellaire has been found, according to the Belmont County Sheriff David Lucas.

Lucas said Jamie Jackson went into the apartment complex’s manager’s office shortly before 2 p.m. pleading for help and trying to get away from Gary Edward Anderson-Myers.

She locked the door, but Anderson-Myers broke through into the office and grabbed Jackson before leaving with her, police said.

At 7:16 p.m., however, Lucas said Jackson had been found unharmed. He added that the suspect ran from officers on foot and that they are searching for him.

Lucas did not yet indicate where the two were found or if Jackson was being held against her will.

Authorities described Anderson-Myers as a white man, 6-feet tall and about 200 pounds. He was wearing a bandana, backwards hat and black shirt during the abduction, police said. Jackson is white, has short, blond hair and is is 5-foot-6, weighing about 120 pounds.

Police said Anderson-Myers, 33, is considered dangerous, and anyone who sees the two should contact 911 immediately.
