Bellaire festival kicks off tonight

BELLAIRE — The Ghosts & Goblins Festival, hosted by the Bellaire Volunteer Fire Department, is set to get underway this evening in the village’s park on Belmont Street.

It will feature food, children’s activities, such as bounce houses, a rock wall, mechanical bull, bean bag toss tournament, as well as a beer garden and many vendors and crafters selling their wares.

The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony at 5:30 p.m. today. From 6-11 p.m. there will be Bingo in the Park. At 7 p.m. a 5K Run/Walk will step off at the park. Proceeds from the race benefit the Coats for Kids program. And starting at 8 p.m. there will be live music from Still Kickin’.

Saturday’s activities will begin 11 a.m. with the Firefighter Olympics obstacle course and the American Legion Post 51 Car Show. Bingo in the Park is from 12:30-5:30 p.m. and later from 6-11 p.m. live music starts at 2 p.m. with Jessica Jo and the Valley Outlaws. Black Diamond Wrestling begins at 5 p.m.

A petting zoo will be open at 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Also on Sunday, there will be a Pet Costume Contest at 1 p.m. and at 1:30 p.m. a Kids Costume Parade is planned.

Also on Sunday is the Kids Firefighter Olympics at 3 p.m. It will coincide with the Bellaire’s Got Talent Show from 1:30-4 p.m.
