1 more case of coronavirus confirmed in Belmont County

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Two more Belmont County residents are quarantined after one of them tested positive for the novel coronavirus, it was announced during the weekly commission meeting today.

Officials said a woman tested positive for the virus after she and her husband had contact with the first COVID-19-positive couple in the county. The ages and community of residence of the newly identified patients were not released.

The first couple to test positive did develop symptoms of the illness, and the man eventually was taken to Wheeling Hospital. Reports Tuesday indicated he had been released from the Intensive Care Unit there and was improving. The woman also has recovered, at home, and been released from quarantine.

All of the people originally identified as contacts of the first couple also have been released from quarantine at home.
