Emergency microgrants developed

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — As we face the uncertainty of the days, weeks and months ahead, the Ohio University community is sure of one thing: Bobcats take care.

Given the widespread impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ohio University Advancement recently launched the #BobcatsTakeCare campaign in support of a newly created fund, the COVID-19 Ohio University Student Emergency Fund. This fund will be used to respond to immediate and emergency student needs across Ohio University’s Athens, Chillicothe, Eastern, Lancaster, Southern and Zanesville campuses.

Any OHIO student experiencing financial difficulty due to COVID-19, can apply for a Student Emergency Microgrant.

Available to all Ohio University students, these funds are designated to help alleviate the following short-term financial needs:

Technology and connectivity needs related to distance learning

Books and other instructional expenses

Tuition and instructional fees (for students with balances of $1,000 or less)

Housing/Rent/Utilities

Food/Groceries

Personal Automobile/Travel

Medical/Dental bills (cannot cover outstanding balances)

Childcare

Other emergency or unforeseen circumstances

Visit bobcatstakecare.ohio.edu for more information about the COVID-19 Ohio University Student Support Fund or to show your support by giving to the fund.
