Union Local receives bomb threat
MORRISTOWN – About 1,200 Union Local School District evacuated their classrooms Thursday after a bomb threat was received.
Parents in the district reported receiving an “All Call” message Thursday informing them of the threat. At least some students at the middle school were evacuated from their classrooms and taken to the bus garage around noon.
Superintendent Ben Porter said around 600 high school students and about the same number of middle school students were removed from their classrooms due to the threat. After Belmont County sheriff’s deputies swept the facility and found nothing, classes resumed and students finished out the day.
