Airplane crashes in Monroe County

WOODSFIELD — The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to an airplane crash at the Monroe County Airport at about 11:09 a.m. Monday.

A 2018 Kitfox 5 single engine fixed wing Experimental aircraft piloted by David P. Krebes of Coronado, California and carrying one passenger crashed while attempting to land.

The occupants were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The flight originated from Farmers Pride Airport in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, and the aircraft was stopping at the Monroe County airport for fuel when the crash occurred.

The FAA will send a representative to the aircraft Tuesday to complete an inspection. The crash is under investigation by the highway patrol.
