EDNA DAUGHERTY

Edna Marie Daugherty, 99, of Bridgeport, OH, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the Park Health Care Center, St. Clairsville, OH.

She was born March 15, 1918, in Cameron, WV, daughter of the late Ray and Nettie Yates Martin.

Edna was retired from the former Stone & Thomas Dept. Store, with membership in the 20 year Club, was an active member of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church, where she served on many committees, including being a member of the United Methodist Women, where she held many offices.

She was a member of the Visitation and Card Ministry Team, Rebecca Agape Circle, and Winsome Sunday School Class. She was also an Auxiliary member of the UTU Lodge #972, OVMC Volunteer, retiring after 19 years, member of OPALS and was a former Girl Scout Leader.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Daugherty in 1987, son in law, Kent Rueckle, and nephew, Rick Henry.

Edna is survived by her children; Arthur Ed Daugherty and his wife, Carol, Jerry Daugherty and his wife, Melinda, all of Wheeling, Jane Rueckle of Bridgeport, OH, 16 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren; 7 great- great grandchildren and 5 step-great-great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, where services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Carpenter officiating. Entombment will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV.
