LEONARD VICKER

Leonard S. Vicker, 81, of Maynard, OH, died Thursday, July 20, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 12, 1936, in Maynard, a son of the late Stanley Peter Vicker and Julia Stopera Vicker.

Leonard was a lifelong farmer and a retired employee from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel’s Martins Ferry Plant.

He was a U.S. Army veteran; a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; and former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

He was also a member of Maynard PNA Lodge 455 and a former member of Maynard American Legion Post 666. He was a current member of St. Clairsville American Legion Post 159.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Frances Vicker; and a brother, Stanley H. Vicker.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Stazenski Vicker; five children, Lance (Tammie) Vicker, Denise Vicker, Jimmy (Sonya) Vicker, Dave (Carla) Vicker and Todd (Denise C.) Vicker; nine grandchildren, Matthew, David, Corey, Amy, Cheryl, Allison, Lauren, Mallory and Cheyenne; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Jordyn, Brock and David Jr.; two sisters, Ruthann Caddell and Patricia Pawlak; a sister-in-law, Linda Vicker; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 4 p.m. and a PNA service at 4:15 p.m.

Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clairsville with Father Thomas Chillog as the celebrant.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville with full military honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
