LOIS POINDEXTER

Lois Anne Poindexter, 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 in Forest Hill Care Center.

She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on May 29, 1931, a daughter of the late Harold Edward Wright and Julia Lado Wright.

Lois owned and operated a beauty shop for many years and retired as a cosmetology instructor from the Belmont JVS. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid painter, loved to read, gardening and watching birds. She and Don were St. Clairsville High School football season ticket holders for 5 decades and they loved their Red Devils.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Poindexter, and a sister, Julia Davis.

Surviving are her son, Mark D. (Rebecca) Poindexter of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Cathy A. (Paul) Schau of Daniels, WV; a sister, Carol Orend of Bridgeport, OH; five grandchildren, Mitchell and Evan Poindexter of Fort Mill, SC, Thaddeus and Samuel Schau of Daniels, WV and Christina (Caleb) Cruikshank of Sylacauga, AL; three great -grand-children, Arron, Anna and Avery.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville for a memorial visitation on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Terry Lucarelli officiating.

Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church for Children’s Ministries.
