DAVID BOUGHNER

He was born June 3, 1952 in Clarington, Ohio, a son of the late Glenn and Mary Truex Boughner. Dave was a 1970 graduate of River High School and served in the United States Army Reserves from 1972-1978.

He was a member of the Mellott Ridge Church of Christ and retired after 42 years from the Quarto, Consol, and Murray Energy Coal Mines.

Surviving are his first love, his devoted wife, Rhonda Friday Boughner, whom he married on June 23, 1973; his beloved children, Alicia (Greg) Gaines of Cincinnati, Ohio, Anthony (Kim) Boughner of Strasburg, Ohio, Alan (Nicole) Boughner and Aaron Boughner (Jennifer Murray) of Beallsville, Ohio; brother and sisters, Virgil (Delores) Boughner, Jackie (Mark) Ice, Barb (Chris) Foy, and Sheryl (Mark) Mercer. Dave was the proud Pap of eight precious grandchildren, Aria, Kiara, and Mariah Gaines, Kamron Potts, Isaiah, Hudson, Elijah, and Drake Boughner. Also left to mourn his passing are many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

Dave’s favorite past-times included spending time with family, watching grandkids play sports, vacations at the beach and mountains, riding 4-wheelers, and taking the kids to the “crick.”

Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Casey Tolzda and Danny Hayes officiating. Dave’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at the Barnesville Hospital ER and the James Cancer Center for their wonderful compassion and care.
