GERALDINE CARPENTER

She and her twin brother Gerald were born to Joseph and Lena Long on April 6, 1921.

Geraldine never met a stranger, making everyone feel like they were part of her family whether she knew them for a day or decades. She was a loving, loyal, compassionate and fun person, known for many roles: a baker extraordinaire of raspberry pies, homemade bread and cinnamon rolls; a mischief- making prankster, particularly on April Fool’s Day and Halloween; a teacher to countless children in her Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes; a lover of birds and flowers.

Left to cherish her memories are her four children, Tom (Lene) Carpenter, Iris (Vallie) Bauer, Bill Carpenter and Lena Carpenter, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Although we will miss her, we will smile through the tears because she taught us to live fully, love deeply and be happy.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, William Harold Carpenter, and all her brothers and sisters.

Her visitation is Friday March 16 from 6-8 p.m. and her service will be March 17 at 11 a.m., both at Borkoski Funeral Home in Tiltonsville, with Pastor Tommy Thomas officiating.
