JoAnn Allene Ghent, 84, resident of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Cumberland Pointe, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

She was born on July 28, 1933 in Weston, W.Va., daughter of the late Gail and Edna Kittle Henry.

JoAnn was a retired line operator at the former Wheeling Stamping, and also worked at Sylvania and Marx Toy Plant.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Benwood.

She was a member of the American Legion, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Meals on Wheels, the Lutheran Women’s Society, and St. Matthew Lutheran Church Council.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Samuel George Ghent; two brothers, Eugene Henry and David Henry.

Surviving are her children, Linda Bodor (Stephen) of Martins Ferry, Charles Ghent (Elizabeth) of Bellaire, Michael Ghent of Wheeling, and John Ghent (Mary Jo) of Bellaire; grandchildren, Brandy, Chipper, Jeremy, Jasmine, Missy, Meranda, Merissa, Meriah, and Michael, Jr; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 36th and Jacob Street, Wheeling, W.Va., 26003 304-232-4060, where services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Sean P. Smith officiating.

Interment to follow in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
