CHARLES PROBST

Charlie was born Oct. 15, 1936, in Wheeling, WV, the second son of the late Lawrence and Laura Edna “Hamilton” Probst.

He was the most loving, kind, generous husband, father and grandfather a family could be blessed with. He never ask for anything and was grateful for others’ kindnesses.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Mack “Bern” Probst.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley “Milbert” Probst; four children, Linda (Jerry) Pockl, Chuck (Karen) Probst, Cindy (Tom Henceroth) Probst and Tom (Mary Jo) Probst, all of the Martins Ferry/Colerain area; seven grandchildren, Alyssa Cotsamire, Jake and Connor Probst, Ashley (Jordan) Howard, Jessie Probst, and Kyle and Kelsey Pockl; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim (Josie) Probst of Colerain.

Charlie retired in 1999 from UPS after 30 years of service.

Charlie was a faithful servant of our Lord as a member of the First Baptist Church of Martins Ferry. He served as a past deacon and usher.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover St., Martins Ferry, where friends will be received Thursday from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, June 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 306 Locust St., Martins Ferry, OH, 43935. The Martins Ferry Fire Department will hold services Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
