BLANCHE A. STANDO

Blanche Alice Harenza Stando, 93, of Fairpoint, Ohio, died January 10, 2019 in Liza’s Place, Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was born in Dilles Bottom, Ohio on April 21, 1925, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Stach Harenza.

Blanche grew up in Blaine, Ohio. She was a homemaker and member of the former St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fairpoint where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. Blanche was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley F. Stando; three brothers, Frank, John and Joseph Harenza and three sisters, Catherine Harenza, Nell Pollock and Agnes Cordes.

Blanche is survived by her three daughters, Karen S. (Richard) Dingey, Judith A. (Irv) Cilles and Rita C. (Eric) Smith all of Fairpoint, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jason A. (Melissa) Dingey, Kate (Ross) Subasic, Jacob (Melissa) Smith, Sara (Chris) Cilles and Matt Cilles; and four great-grandchildren, Claire Subasic, Jack Subasic, Nathan Smith and Emma Dingey. She also leaves behind her dear friend and sister-in-law, Rosemaire Stando and many loved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas Chillog as celebrant. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clairsville Area Council of Churches Food Pantry and Valley Hospice.
