CORRINE SCHREYER

Corrine Schreyer, 84, of Wheeling, WV, died Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Liza’s Place, a Valley Hospice Care Center located at Mount Saint Joseph.

She was born March 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Paul and Matilda Weigand. While working full-time, Corrine earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from West Virginia Northern Community College in 1984 and her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Wheeling Jesuit College in 1991. Tirelessly dedicated to the health and comfort of her patients, she was a Registered Nurse at Wheeling Hospital and later the Director of Nursing Service at Mount Saint Joseph. A devout Catholic and member of Corpus Christi Church in Warwood, Corrine generously volunteered her time with the parish Ladies’ Guild. When she wasn’t with her cherished family, Corrine loved to laugh and reminisce with her friends from the St. John’s Central Class of 1954.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Jane, and her three brothers, Earl, Allen, and Wallace. Corrine is survived by her husband, William J. Schreyer of Wheeling; by her sister Nancy (Tim) Coyne of St. Clairsville, OH; by her five children, William A. Schreyer of Wheeling, Bernadette (Scott) Conklin of Evans City, PA, Michael (Laura) Schreyer of La Plata, MD, Nancy (Jim Jen) Schreyer of Cranberry Twp., PA, and Kurt (Kim Broker) Schreyer of St. Louis, MO; thirteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Friends will be received on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Warwood, with Msgr. Eugene Ostrowski V.F. as celebrant, and Rev. Paul Mundumoozhikkaranirappel, C.S.T. and Rev. Martin Smay as concelebrants. Entombment will take place in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or Mount Saint Joseph.
