DAVID JOHNSON

David was born on Aug. 6, 1937, in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Raymond Porter and Helen Richardson Johnson.

David retired as the Vice President and General Manager of Scott Fluid Power in Wheeling, a United States Army Veteran, member of Christ United Methodist Church, former Master at the Whg Lodge No. 5, A.F. & A.M., member of the Osiris Temple of the Shrine, Royal Order of the Jesters, member of the Elm Grove Eagles Aeries No. 1891 and the Wheeling Lodge No. 28 BPOE.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Raymond P. Johnson II.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Scott Johnson; two daughters; Lisa Vannoy (Ken) of St. Clairsville, OH and Penny Johnson of Wheeling, WV; two sisters; Sharon Southworth (Louie) of Charleston, WV and Paula Garrett (David) of Virginia; two grandchildren; Bethany Vannoy and her fiance, Joel Reed, and Seth Vannoy and his fiancee, Brittanie Bolten, and several nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law, Thelma “Happy” Scott.

Friends are invited on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019. from 3-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling, WV, 304-232-2739 and on Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 1232 National Road. Wheeling, WV, with the Reverend Jake Steele officiating. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors.
