JOHN FRETER

John Charles Freter, passed from this earthly life to eternal life on September 21, 2019.

He was born on March 10, 1938 in Bridgeport Ohio. He lived in Bridgeport as a child and in Wheeling West Virginia as an adult.

His Children are John Christian Freter, Columbus Ohio; Katina Lee Sayers, Tully New York; Fawn Rana Caseman Carson, Westlake Ohio; Joshua Brant Caseman, San Antonio, Texas and Nephew Michael Christian Hughes, Saint Clairsville Ohio.

His eight grandchildren are Johnathan Charles Freter, Cincinnati Ohio, Victoria Katelyn Freter, Columbus Ohio; Kathleen Ann Alonso, San Antonio Texas; Brant Walter Caseman, San Antonio Texas; Kaylee Noelle Carson, Westlake Ohio; Marcus Alexander Caseman, San Antonio, Texas; Benjamin Reed Carson, Westlake Ohio, Cara Lise Carson, Westlake Ohio and great niece, Kailin Brienna Hughes, St. Clairsville, Ohio plus great-grand daughter, Madeleine Mae Freter is due to arrive in November 2019. His wife of forty years is Donna Schrader Freter.

John was adopted by Mary Agnes Freter after his parents John Christian Freter and Virginia Evans Freter passed away. He grew up at 217 Howard Street Bridgeport Ohio in a house that had been owned by the family since 1860. He graduated from Linsly Military Academy in 1956. He then went to college at Wake Forest. After college he became a professional photographer after graduating from the New York School of Photography. He worked for a year at the newspaper in Cambridge Ohio. He joined the service in 1960 and was assigned by the Army to serve in the Azores. On weekends he explored Europe. He worked for Newbrough Studios, an insurance company as an agent, and sold Volkswagens at Bill Cruise Volkswagen. Then He retired and helped wife Donna with their antiques business.

He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He was an animal lover and enjoyed the out doors. He liked to garden, to run, and to walk. He was a social person and could strike up a conversation with anyone.

There will be no visitation; just a private memorial party with family and friends.
