MARGARET “PEGGY” WHEELER
Margaret M. “Peggy” Wheeler, 89, of Galion passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Signature Health CARE in Galion.
She was born August 20, 1930 in Bellaire, Ohio and was the daughter of Arlie and Violet (Beaver) Kennedy. On May 7, 1949 she married Cletus Wheeler and they were married 62 years until his passing on December 27, 2011.
Peggy started as a secretary with Hugh Place Insurance, obtained her insurance license in 1973 and retired as an agent with the Hugh Place Insurance Agency after 25 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and watching TV, especially Ellen DeGeneres.
Peggy is survived by grandson Tom (Marci) Wheeler of Galion; three great-grandchildren Dylan, Briana and Melanie Wheeler all of Galion; great great-grandson Rylee Wheeler; daughter-in-law Jean Wheeler of Galion; two sisters Shirley Mayer of Bellaire, Ohio and Patricia Crolley of New Philadelphia, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Thom Wheeler.
Following her wishes, there will be no formal service held.
Memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
