CLARENCE STANLEY

Clarence Wilbur Stanley, 92, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Valley Hospice Liza’s Place Care Center South.

He was born on July 5, 1928, in Silver Springs, Maryland to the late Loran and Helen (Rouse) Stanley.

Wilbur was a 1946 graduate of Olney Friends School and proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. He attended the Main Street United Methodist Church in Barnesville. Wilbur devoted his life to his family and enriching their lives everyday. He spent his whole life working for Garvins Foods and Lakeland Foods and he enjoyed volunteering for Hospice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Eileen Edna (Huntsman) Stanley; son, David Stanley; and a daughter, Beth Sampson.

Wilbur is survived by his daughter, Mary (Charlie) Morrison; daughter-in-law, Linda Stanley; brother, Art Stanley; sister, Verna Crowe; grandchildren: Chelsie Sampson, RoAnn Trader, Amy Rhodes, Jessie Wells, Eric Morrison and Neil Morrison; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Crestview Cemetery with Rev. Jean Cooper officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell- Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wilbur’s name to the Valley Hospice Foundation.
