ALFRED DeFRANCO
Alfred J. “Al” DeFranco, 71, died Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at his home in Charleston, WV. He was born August 10, 1949, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Alfred A. DeFranco and Edith Maruca DeFranco.
Alfred was a graduate of Shadyside Highschool and Ohio University. He worked as a Supervisor in the West Virginia State Tax Department before his retirement in 2015. He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He also loved the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Surviving are his sister, Diane (Bill) Kern, of Akron, OH, niece, Jennifer (Eric) Cooper and great niece, Lily Diane Cooper all of New Franklin, OH.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, OH 43947 on Sunday, November 15, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Monday, November 16, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Huesel officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling, WV.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facial coverings will be required during visitation and service.
