JEAN ELLEN ENGLISH

Jean Ellen English, 87, of Barnesville, died on Friday, November 27, 2020, at Astoria Place of Barnesville.

She was born on March 1, 1933 in Cambridge, Ohio, to the late David (D.B.) and Mary (Rea) Squibb.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; brother, David Bales Squibb, Jr.; and sister- in-law, Nancy (Ramsey) Squibb.

Jean was an alumni of Barnesville High School class of 1951. She was a licensed practical nurse for the late Dr. Paul Reeder and part owner/operator of Jean’s Cleaners, English’s Cleanville Coin Laundromat, and Montgomery Ward Catalog Store. Jean enjoyed traveling around the U.S. and part of Europe with her late husband, Jack, attending music and sporting events of her three children and three grandchildren, and boating on their pontoon boat with her family. She was an avid reader, word search puzzle enthusiast, and loved to collect angels. Jean was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and a past member of the church choir.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Mary Devine of Barnesville; sons, Steve English of Pataskala, Ohio and Paul (Diana) English of Salado, Texas; three grandchildren, Brad English and Kirsten Devine both of Barnesville and Kyle Devine of Cincinnati; brother, Albert (Clarice) Squibb of Marietta; one niece and three nephews.

A Graveside Service for Jean will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 11 a.m., Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville. Pastor Jean Cooper, officiant.
